Anhydrous hydrofluoric acid production process

- Jun 25, 2018 -

Anhydrous hydrofluoric acid is an extremely corrosive acid. Its physical properties are wide liquid temperature range, high conductivity, large polarity, low boiling point, freezing point, viscosity and surface tension, chemical characteristics are fluorocarbon chain strong and active chemical activity, almost with all kinds of organic Or inorganic compounds combine.

At present, the industrial production of anhydrous hydrofluoric acid in the world is mainly based on the fluorite route, which is produced by the reaction of fluorite powder (CaF2) and sulfuric acid (H2S04).

Most domestic manufacturers adopt fluorspar powder (CaF2), sulfuric acid (H2S04) and fuming sulfuric acid as raw materials and heat the reaction in a rotary furnace to generate crude hydrogen fluoride gas. After washing, cooling, condensing, rectifying and degassing, they are water-free. Hydrofluoric acid products, by-products are fluorosilicic acid and fluoride-containing gypsum.
