It decomposes when heated and is easily soluble in water, ethanol and ammonia. It is mainly used as a catalyst and also as a desiccant for the preparation of paints and coatings. It has been used in printing and dyeing auxiliaries and is rarely used now. It can also be used as a FRP curing accelerator and a hidden ink.
